Tree?

We had a talk this evening at the Photographic Society by Dr John Law FRPS entitled "Creative Juices".  An interesting evening.  One point he made was that 30 different artists asked to paint the same scene would come up with 30 different interpretations - all valid.  They can range from the detailed, almost photographic version by John Constable, through to almost abstract, cubist versions.  It might be difficult to argue which is the best;  we can merely agree that they are all different.

To illustrate his point, he had us each issued with a sheet of paper, and then gave us 30 seconds to make a tree.  There was, no surprise, a variety of results, from paper torn into the classic Christmas tree shape, to drawings of trees executed with differing levels of skill.  In 30 seconds, there is little time to think and create anything. I went for a 3D model - as you can see.  Not sure it looks much like a tree, but it is my 30 second interpretation.

The message, of course, is that we all have different photographic styles, but they are all valid.
