Life from a City

The Ring

This is my most prized possession. It is very small, and was my Grandmother's engagement ring. She died when I was four. I can still remember trying to get my head round it, having a clear memory at that time of going to visit her. It was given by my Grandfather, who was in the RAF - and this was the RAF crest. He had it made specially for her. In terms of gems, it isn't worth much, the stones are tiny shards - but the beauty is in the craftsmanship and what it means - that he loved her so much he went to the trouble of having this made. I even have the original receipt from Owen & Robinson jewellers.
