Today, after the morning's rain had stopped, the clouds were still piled high and dark to our north - inland, into the hills. So we had the choice: shelter from the wind and walk in the gloom, or brave the biting wind on the shore and walk with at least a hint of brightness. We chose the latter and headed to Toward, where the beginning of the walk was made stressful by the wind in our faces and the sense that we needed to hold ourselves as still as possible inside our clothes to avoid draughts ...

But by the time I took this, the wind was dropping and the last of the sun had left these pale peach clouds to the south of us. On the way home, we were passed by the gritting lorry. There's a change on the way ...
