Merdasa ben Youssef

After a gentle start to the morning, we headed out to see this splendid old building in Marrakesh.  We only lost our way once, though that was very early in the walk, and it took us some time to realise we were on the wrong road - we had to walk almost all the way back to our lodgings to regain the correct route!

After, we wended our way slowly through the sukhs (it has to be slow, as every other shop keeper tries to interest you in their wares, and also you need a sharp eye for bikes (motorised and pedal) and men pushing carts laden with heavy goods).

We stopped for a coffee at a little square, admiring the carpets and rugs hanging from the walls of a shop opposite.  Eventually, we made it to Jemaa-el-Fla - a large square with all sorts of performers and stores, where we sat on a Terrasse overlooking the square and ate our lunch.

Then another gentle meander back to our lodgings, and a lazy couple of hours.  Just about to take advantage (we hope) of the advertised free afternoon coffee and biscuits.
