Opera!

I've been to see Carmen at the Bolshoi!

The main stage has been closed for renovation since 2005 so the new stage, which (I'm told) was constructed especially, is home to the Ballet and Opera in the meantime. This is it. I enjoyed the theatrical and carnival-esque format that it took - not as classical and minimalist as I expected. The orchestra was fantastic and it was cracking evening. I even tried Russian champagne, which wasn't too bad! (the Moet was over £30 a glass!) Very decadent!

On the way home I tried some whatdoyoumacallit shots with moving trains.... For some reason I couldn't get onto the blog to upload them, so have put a couple on flickr instead.
