Plus ça change...

Black (and white) Friday

Finally, a normal day sleep-wise.  In that I slept most of the night and didn't sleep any of the day.  For a three-year old this would be an achievement. For me, a normal first-week-in-January.

After several days of rain, some sunshine this morning.  Ok, so the sun had not technically risen yet, but there was no cloud, so that counts, right?  Here's a bit of Lavaur, from the route to school.  About 5 minutes after this the whole valley was full of fog.  I have to say I didn't spot the crane until I saw this on the computer.

It seems that my days of sloth (and poorliness) have coincided with the rain, but today was for action.  So the school bills were done, the headlights and a certificate ordered for the soon-to-be-French car and some other stuff too.  That list feels very short, but it certainly felt like a day of action.

Lunch time saw some pretty intensive parenting with another existential poetry crisis for CarbBoy.  Then cake making and icing (his birthday is Sunday, but one of our neighbours - and his classmate - has a birthday on Monday so I didn't want to send in a cake then), shopping, basketball (including an unexpected New Year drink) and now a family night.

We finally persuaded Mr B that, although The Great Gatsby is a fab book and wonderful movie, it doesn't scream "Friday night".  So we forced him to watch Pitch Perfect (which he loved) and he insisted on Pitch Perfect 2 as well.

As for blip; give early, give often.
