Anonymous floral tribute on Welsh mountain

I found these flowers placed amongst some ferns high up above Mountain Centre in the Brecon Beacons facing directly Pen-y-Fan, the highest mountain in south Wales 2,907ft (886 metres).

Why?
There was no message, no indication that a human hand had placed them there on the common ground about half a mile from the Brecon Beacons National Trust Visitors Centre.

This is the second time in a few months I have come across flowers placed at strategic positions on mountains. I blipped the previous one on Dumyat, part of The Ochils in central Scotland.

And here I come across a similar ritual, only this time they are placed opposite a mountain, not a castle.
