U-Bahn München: 62/100 Moosfeld

Munich Underground: 62/100 Moosfeld

The next station in my Munich underground series after last week's Moosacher St.-Martins-Platz station is Moosfeld underground station. The station was opened in May 1999 as part of the eastern extension of the U2 undeground line beyond Innsbrucker Ring. Design-wise it shares many features with the stations of this extension, like Kreillerstraße, Messestadt Ost or Messestadt West. However, the design of the spoon-like lamps is somehow unique. The incline of the upper half of the walls was caused by the constricted surface space during construction works. The kink is intensified by an optical trick in the letters. As somewhat of an exception, this station has no advertisement at all, so that this writing is not disturbed.
