POINCIANA BLOSSOM

I had never paid any attention to individual poinciana blossoms until I found this one on the path this morning. Usually the great blazing orange bunches are too high to examine closely. I was surprised to find that it has only four petals, one of which I captured handheld with a macro lens.  The extra shot is the whole flower
