Flower Friday - a mass of flowers

I couldnt resist this riotous mass of colours. There are massed plantings either side of the entrance to the Pethybridge Rose Gardens. Very eye catching . The bees were partying.

In the extra is one of the gardens rare perennials. I have been told it could be a crocosmia. It is an outstanding plant with its vibrant orange-red tubular flowers that open in succession from the rows of little green buds. The bokeh comes from a large grey bush of 'lambs tails' behind it.

For a very small garden, this one holds a wonderful selection of roses and perennials. I was there at 8 am this morning and the sun was already too strong for capturing the reds - but I was ahead of the wind.
