If you go down to the woods...

An early-ish start for a Saturday morning with Bailey up and  walked and me in town by ten past nine. A productive trip with a parcel collected, my phone  tariff changed, a Christmas present taken to the framers and one or two bits of shopping done, though nothing major. Home for lunch and and an invitation from the bestest friend to take advantage of the bright, cold day to have a wander in the woods.

We had a really good wander and trusted Bailey to be off his lead several times (and up on to a woodpile, though not with any great posing-for-a-blip success.)  He had a whale of a time, particularly when he was allowed to get in amongst other dogs. He made the appearance of being a bit more biddable on recall, until he decided he'd rather join a family with four dogs than stick with us. So, tomorrow's training session is very timely. I really want to be able to trust him to be off his lead but he needs to be more interested in doing as he is told.

We came home via a visit to his other favourite people and since then he has taken to the spare bed and slept right through his tea and beyond. Hopefully he is getting himself ready to be particularly attentive tomorrow...
