Black cat in a coal cellar

This is one of my efforts for the "black on black" exercise (see also white on white). I actually wasn't intending this to be my subject but when Mystère saw a black velvet dress draped over the table, he came and sat on it, so it would have been rude not to take a photo. Conditions were not ideal as he insisted on either turning his back, or ramming his nose into the lens, so I had to be quick. Best viewed large on a black background!

This evening we were off out again, to the Centre Culturel this time, to see a play, Le Cas de la Famille Coleman. We don't often go to see conventional "fourth wall" plays and I have to say we weren't bowled over by this one. It had its moments, and the cast were full of verve and energy, but the theme of a dysfunctional family was pushed too far, into farce, leaving you wondering what the point of it all was. It was a freezing cold night too, leaving us wishing we'd stayed at home; it also put paid to my vague idea of taking photos outdoors using the tripod. Instead you get an abstract taken while we were eating our pre-theatre hamburgers (see extra).
