The Quilt Show and More

A delight for the
eyes, quilts, migratory birds
and an orange sunset

Friends are visiting from Canada. Today the ladies went to the quilt show while the guys cruised the outdoor market. Both parties ended up at the same restaurant for lunch (which was totally unplanned) yet minutes apart. Both parties returned to home base with wonderful bargains!

The annual Desert Lily Quilt show did not disappoint. The membership produces an amazing number of new quilts each year. Part of the Hoffman Challenge is featured as part of the display. They take 'art' to a whole new level. Part of the quilt show included a talk on vintage quilts for the first time this year.

On the drive home we had to stop to catch one of our usually lovely Arizona sunsets. As we turned the corner we discovered a gathering of turkey vultures settling into a big tree for the night. These migrate from the bottom tip of South America to the southern points in Canada. We suspected they were heading north again. This would just be a stopover for them.
