Mostly Six Five Oh

Fairley's Pharmacy

I always like seeing this building, there are a number of these pie wedge shaped buildings along NE Sandy Blvd. Fairley's Pharmacy has been in this location since 1913 and still has a functioning soda fountain. I have yet to go in as we're not usually up here unless we're seeing a movie in the evening or en route to/from the airport - I'll need to make a special trip sometime.

We were in this neighborhood to finally see the latest Star Wars movie which is playing at the Roseway Theater (across the street from Fairley's) which we like because it's still a single screen movie theater. It's small but has a nice feel to it, art deco building/interior that hasn't been messed about much. The screen and sound is up to date as is the seating which is comfortable.

Oh, the movie was entertaining, essentially a remake of the 1977 original but with a female lead, which is fine with me, and definitely a welcome return to the feel of those earlier movies after the almost unwatchable offerings in 1999, 2002, 2005.
