Life through the lens...

Poor thing.

Wasn't until I saw this photo on my IPad that I realised this cute little robin had a damaged right leg, or so it seems, as he is standing on one leg in all the photos I took.

Had a day out at Blacktofts Sands RSPB. Not much about, as the lagoons were frozen over.
A flock of pink foot geese flew over just as we arrived, and afterwards a flock of black tailed godwit. All looking for food. There were some reed buntings performing their acrobatics as they tried to balance on the slender reed stems. Quite a few snipe. The odd marsh harrier, lots of fat wood pigeons, tree sparrows, and magpies.
We had taken tomato and basil soup, roast beef and pickled onion sandwiches,Christmas cake, and coffee.
This little robin came to see if there were any scraps left, but there were only a couple of crumbs!

We had a nice walk round the reserve, and along the river.
Although it was very foggy when we left home, it was clear blue sky and sun but cold when we got to the reserve.

Collected a car load of wood on the way home, which should keep us warm and cosy for a while!

All in all a good day out!
