The Photographer

At the western end of Arnside Promenade, where the wide road becomes a footpath leading to New Barnes Bay, there is a large tree. It grows in the grounds of Ashmeadow House but its branches stretch out into the Kent Estuary. They must be among the most photographed branches in the country.

Here is a lady including them in her photograph of the river and the hills beyond.

Little does she know that not far away there is a blipper on the prowl and that within a few hours hundreds of enthusiasts will have seen her.
