Kata in water

The bedding was sorted out to the satisfaction of most, and everyone slept well. J went down to the beach early for a swim, while the rest of us were a little slower to get started. The Tsukens suggested we all go to a nearby gelato and pizza restaurant (almost in Matakana village) for lunch. By the time we had forced ourselves to eat all we could, there was only 1.5 pizzas left. Offered boxes to take away what remained, we agreed. Then left without them.

A somnolent afternoon in the heat of the day; for us very hot at just under 30 Celsius. Managed to persuade the grandchildren to wait until late afternoon to go for a swim, as going earlier would have meant a long walk out to the water. Like yesterday the water was warm, the wind was almost non existent, and the sun was shining brightly.

The children had a great time, s did the adults: Tsuken, S, J (C had to return to Auckland leaving her lads with us), and S' brother B across from Melbourne. Me also. B had brought his mother home from the hospital, and he is staying with her for a few days. She is much better, and was reassured that the pain was "only" angina. Hopefully she will relax and the medication changes will prevent a recurrence.

This photo of Tsuken practising a kata (Ji,in) in the water is my choice for today.
