Manta, Ecuador

This morning, we docked at the busy city of Manta in Ecuador.  The harbour is packed with tuna fishing boats, all unloading their catches into trucks, which will take the fish to canning factories to be turned into Star*Kist.  It is fascinating to sit on our balcony and watch all the goings-on!

We took one of these incredibly colourful buses (called "Chivas") to the town of Montecristi, the birthplace of the famous Panama Hat.  Richard finally found one big enough to fit his head, and he is very pleased with his new accessory!  If only it didn't take half a lifetime to upload each picture, I'd add some extras, but as it is, it took three attempts and a total of two hours just to get this one up!
