Collage

So I get to the end of the day and think - I haven't taken my daily photograph. And I need something "abstracty".

This is the result. In one of the committee rooms a celebration of Salford's links with it's twin towns. This collage celebrates a trip to St Ouen (judging by some of it, some time ago), a commune just outside the old city walls of the Paris commune, and originally twinned with the old Salford corporation.

Town twinning was a big thing in the 1950's and 1960's, part of the reconciliation between countries after the second world war. We now take for granted peace between west european countries, and there is a general cynicism about all things "Europe". We would miss it if it did not exist.
