Iris reticulata

This little Iris reticulata is the prettiest and latest bulb to flower in the garden. It was otherwise a typical, but unremarkable (grey) Sunday. Peter's mum Ruth came for dinner as she often does on Sundays. She loves seeing us all and whilst the conversation is on a loop, she is clearly very happy to be with us, which is the most important thing.  Lauren in particular is extremely patient with Ruth repeatedly asking her about school, over & over.
