First Light

This morning, I thought there might be quite a nice sunrise, looking at the earliest blush on the horizon, so I got the nearest camera to hand to be ready.  At the start it was very disappointing, although it was quite reasonable at its best, which is the picture captured here, with our trees framing the bottom and sides.

Feeling a little better today, but not really wanting to do much. However, our front boundary has about 80 metres of chain, between steel posts, abutting the road.  During the night, the chain had been cut in a couple of places and the U sections attached to the posts had been deliberately broken in an attempt to steal it, doing a temporary repair was about as much as I could do.  If tomorrow is dry enough I will make new U sections, weld these to the damaged posts and then weld a new section of chain, where part is missing.  As each post had been deliberately linked to the chain, so that it could not be pulled through, they had found it almost impossible to steal the chain, so that most of it remains.  The gates to our drive had also been forced, but would not open wide enough for anyone to get in.
