Pastures New

Maisie the Labradoodle and I drove to the Upper Taylor River earlier this morning. It seemed that we were going to have another hot sticky day so I wanted to get our walk over with before the heat affected Maisie. She met and played with a few dogs....great fun. We walked upstream as far as the first lot of big stepping stones. Maisie skipped across them with no trouble at all. She is a quick learner. We walked a different track back to the vehicle. This track crosses the old Blenheim landfill site and is attractively grassed these days. There were clouds over the distant Richmond Range, an indication of rain in the Marlborough Sounds. A strong nor-west wind has been blowing today. This has cooled the temperatures a little...just a little.
