Palm Tree in a Gale

The palm's in the hands
of a sixty-three-mile-an-hour wind.
It is bent by gales,
distorted through rain-river glass;
its leaves, like birds, blown sideways
in a storm that seems never to pass.

I am sick of the sound of gales and rain. I am sick of being stuck indoors. We made a brief sortie to Lidl and Sainsbugs, which made a great change. When is this weather ever going to let up?

Of course I shouldn't complain: only eight-and-a-half sleeps till we go to Madeira. Meanwhile, tonight, I'm planning to start another jigsaw; a smaller one this time - and an old favourite!

Keep warm, folks. And have a lovely weekend, whatever the weather.
