Why?

It wasn't the delay to boarding and then the further delay to take off  that I minded, but the fact that I had to rush my last decent pint of Doombar in the UK (no real ale in Istanbul) because the announcement board posted the instruction "go to lounge" at 12.35 as if the flight was on time, when mere seconds after getting there it was announced (did I detect a note of glee?) that boarding wouldn't be happening until 1.40 (nearly an hour later and twenty minutes after scheduled take off time) and everyone should take a seat.  So,  I could easily have finished my pint at leisure. Why did they do that?
