Enter The Dragon

Chinese New Year celebrations in Manchester Chinatown today, with the procession of the dragon. There were two dragons. So annoyed that virtually all my shots of the dragons were blurred. Must do better.

But marvellous to see the show. Many thanks to Karen who told a steward we were photographers on a project and got us into an enclosure with a wonderful view of proceedings.

Two hours to drive to Manchester, and two hours in pretty awful weather driving back. 

Today's photographic event was organised by Redeye, a publicly funded photographic network. It was a refreshing experience not to meet people from camera clubs. We were teamed up as pairs and each had a brief to meet. The briefs had been inserted into fortune cookies.

We had to ask 12 people in an area with a lot of footfall to pose for us. The other brief was, Don't react, analyse. Not sure I met that one really. Just too excited to see the festivities. I have to admit I had tears of joy.
