Lunch beside a Mountain Stream

Once again the Wanaka Walkers have had a wonderful day out.  We drove to Davis Flat and walked from there up the Bridle Track to Haast Pass in the shade of Beech trees.  Some of us had our lunch sitting in the shade/sun beside the Brodrick Stream.  In no time at all the 24 of us were back at the cars, and stopped for a welcome ice cream or cuppa at a local cafe at Makarora.

On the way to Davis Flat a mob of sheep passed us.  Luckily they were going in the opposite direction to us.  That is extra number one.  The other one is of me climbing over a tree that had fallen across the track.  Thanks to D for taking this photo.

Another brilliant walk.  On the way home the outside temperature guage on the car read +31C!!  It has been another very hot day.
