47 Years Ago...

...I stood with a few thousand other Boeing employees and watched this unbelievably large airplane fly for the first time. I doubt that any of us realized how much this airplane would change air travel, or how successful the program would be.

P.S.
The extra photo shows a takeoff during the flight test program at Edwards Air Force base in the Mohave Desert that was just as exciting -- but  that's another story!
