Purple Sunbird(Cinnyris asiaticus)Female

This is an abundant resident, the Purple Sunbird, her husband has the flashy purple plumage. This pretty little bird has a beautiful nest, that is hanging from a nearby branch and so she is very busy, the male is also busy chasing off other males, who might be trying to take his territory and he is also very noisy making everyone aware of his presence. These birds are tiny at 10cm but they make up for their size with amazing metallic purple colour(male)and very loud singing.
