Little Langdale and Tarn

A grand day out. One of those day of days to treasure. Brilliant weather at last. A 10 mile walk that is becoming a favourite. Started from Elterwater again, this time after a coffee and scone. (Both excellent)

Then over to Little Langdale where this shot was taken. Never fails to impress, another favourite view in the Lakes. From Little Langdale we crossed the ancient Slater Bridge over the River Colwith and made our way via Tilberthwaite and Yewdale to Glen Mary bridge and up to Tarn Hows for lunch.

Picking up the Cumbria Way we worked our way back to Skelwith Bridge and along the River Brathey and Elter Water back to the village. As we were walking this lovely path 3 buzzards were circling overhead, mewing in the sky. That was the 4th buzzard of the day as just as we set off in the morning we saw one perched in a tree.

Then it was home for Cumberland sausages, mash and onion gravy. What a way to finish a memorable day.
