Flower Friday - A Golden Kowhai

This  4 metre high statue of a golden kowhai flower stands in the centre of Napier and was created by NZ  artist, Paul Dibble. The artwork is cast bronze and the petals and the blossom petals are gilded with 24 carat gold and lacquer. At night it is illuminated by a golden glow from spotlights. I would like to have seen that.

It will do nicely for Flower Friday.

In the extra is a view out to Cape Kidnappers framed by a viewing platform on Marine Parade.
