Bye Bye, St Ives

Home again now. I couldn't resist having a final walk about St Ives before we left. The weather didn't exactly play ball so I had to avoid rain drops on the lens. I like the shot of this little building at the head of Smeaton's Pier. I won't tell you what it's function is unless it takes the charm of it away for you. Behind it is the delightfully tiny Fishermen's Chapel, which dates from medieval times, and is where the sailors would go to pray for a safe return from their voyages. It now houses a musem and a memorial to local fishermen lost at sea. There are a few more from this morning here.

It's been a lovely time away and we've enjoyed the St Ives, the general locality and the holiday house we've stayed at.
