Scarfs or Scarves?

I have no idea which is the right plural for a scarf... maybe it's just a matter of taste?
Anyway, in my closet I have this IKEA-hanger for accessories full of different scarves.  Lots of colours, textures and sizes. I never feel fully dressed until I've got a scarf around my neck.  Maybe it's the Icelandic weather?
