As part of the WWI coverage I watched a documentary and then a short film on BBCFour this evening about a man I'd never even heard of, a person who became the first black Officer in the British Army and someone who was apparently a wonderful chap taboot. I hope more people learn about him and he is one day awarded the medal owing to him because it's a crying shame that in this day and age the red tape of old can still be left uncut.
