Mostly Six Five Oh

Leeds, UK

Arrived in Amsterdam on a bright and frosty morning.  It was a long flight with very little sleep.  Glad to get off the plane and get some fresh air and a shower (The Sheraton Hotel at Amsterdam Schiphol has shower facilities for 20 euros, in case you ever need to know).  Had some food at an airport restaurant which had a nice view, we were so spaced out we didn't realize that the restaurant was only open to a special meeting until we left the restaurant and saw the sign!  They were such nice people to not have mentioned it or refusing us service.  Pretty hilarious and we were glad we'd left a good tip.  We mooched around for a couple of hours before going through security/immigration again to make our flight connection to Leeds/Bradford.  Amsterdam airport was heaving, so many people and the airport going through some upgrades/remodel so it was pretty chaotic and we were relieved we'd allowed a lot of time.

Short flight to the UK and managed to sleep for the hour we were in the air. Arrived to a very cold (patches of snow) Yorkshire.  A drive into the center of Leeds and found our hotel through the evening commute and various closed roads.   The picture above is the view from our room, the Liverpool Leeds Canal below.

An OK dinner in the hotel restaurant, after 30+ hours of constant travel we were really too tired to care!

Extra - beautiful Dutch tulips at Amsterdam airport, they smelled lovely.
