Zebra Crossing!

We woke to a beautiful blue sky and heat to come.  We packed up from the chalet and left the centre taking a detour around to search for more animals.  We drove to a look-out point we saw yesterday evening through the pouring rain – today it was blue skies so I set up the tripod and took the necessary images; I will sort out the panorama later, probably when I am home.  Our resolution was not to photograph any more impala (we managed that) or zebra or giraffe (failed with both of those.  We also saw more warthogs with their babies – so cute! – and a troop of baboons but the leopard has eluded us again and there were no more elephants on view.

I just had to blip the Zebra Crossing!!  I couldn’t resist the group of them trotting across the track!

During the drive to St Lucia, we stopped for some lunch at the Ghost Inn (Mkuze) which is one of the places we stayed during our visit a few years ago; it is still as lovely.  We also took a short cut over one of their lesser roads – effectively a dirt track so not a smooth rode for 34 km!

Now in our B&B in St Lucia near the wetland reserve – it is windy but still very hot with tomorrow forecast to be hotter – 40+.  We will shortly go into the town for dinner but we will need to use the car as hippos roam the streets at night and it’s not a great idea to be out on foot!  I am now with decent wifi again so have caught up with the past couple of days – here and here if you’re interested.
