Old Shot Tower

This, strictly speaking, is a derelict building as it is no longer fit for its original purpose.  The old gun shot factory is beautifully preserved below a conical glass roof and is a now part of a spectacular shopping centre in Melbourne.  The lower parts of the tower are used by designer shops.  It is huge and, were it not for an imaginative conversion and development, would have been completely derelict any years ago - there not being a great deal of demand for gun shot these day!

A hot day in Melbourne and a lovely lunch in the city with friends from the UK who fly home tomorrow. Do we really have to travel to the other side of the world to catch up?
