Deluge, Downpours, Rainbows & Beer

It's been another wet and chilly day in Funchal, but still sunnier and milder than at home. In between drenchingly heavy showers, the sun shone, and sometimes during them, too, to offer glorious rainbows. The Extra shows a deep puddle that developed rapidly in the hotel garden during a morning deluge.

We did venture out, grabbing a hotel brolly from the lobby on the way out, though only putting it up once we were in the sheltered part of the city. We passed two 'dead' brollies abandoned, broken, at the side of the pavement on our way down the hill. The winds were over 40mph - almost home-from-home weather, but not quite as cold and grey, and certainly without the fog we'd have had in the UK.

For the second time this week we found ourselves at the Riso Restaurant, one of our favourites. Did I already mention that I love Madeira?! Thanks for all the nice comments and kind stars. I hope you're keeping warm.
