Skeleton of the Gairloch

Take Two - and if you should like to read about it there is a link in yesterdays blip.

As I said yesterday I really wanted to go back when there was some water around the Gairloch, the tide was up and so was the moon whilst the sun set behind us.  Taken around 8.15 pm.  The colours were sublime, beyond the skeleton were dozens of surfers enjoying some good waves and the warm evening.  We never got back until 9.30, I've just had a shower and nearly ready for bed.

We have spent the day in the Taranaki National Park.  We did a two hour circuit called the Veronica Track - rather "grunty" but pure beauty.  The native trees and all the smaller plants underneath was awesome.  We enjoyed a lunch in the Visitors Centre Cafe before travelling to another part of Mt Taranaki to walk to the Dawson Falls - certainly well worth the walk and the trek up the hill at the end.

We surely deserved a double scoop ice cream after all of that activity.

I'll try to put up on Flickr some images of our day tomorrow, although I didn't take that many as we walked.

Another splendid day in the New Plymouth area.  Biking tomorrow!!
