Migrant in Moscow

Metro Classic

Classic Soviet constructivist design of the vestibule at the Borovitskaya metro station, commissioned in 1986.  Some older photos here.  I read that workers excavating the site during construction of the station were amazed to come across a cottage sunk into the ground almost completely intact including furniture, utensils etc.  After some investigation it was concluded that the house has been built during the 16th century and had been the victim of a near perfect sinkhole hence remaining largely intact.  No reports though on where the inhabitants were at the time.

P.S.  As promised, I've posted a few more notes on my Impressions of an Astronaut blip on 14 February 2016.
