As they are trying to brand the city. It is an excellent idea, generally. A great number of dwellings in town are flats in tenements, so picking up the waste from individual residences is a problem.

We have these new bins in the street, trying to reduce the amount of food-waste put into landfill. I hope there's a good use made of them, but judging by the lazy attitude to the other bins, used for packaging and paper, I somehow doubt it...

As it happens, we'll not be using these much ourselves, as most of our organic waste goes straight to our own compost bins at the allotment...

In other news: went out for a pint with Malk tonight. We put the world to rights :)
