Wound up in Wexford

Walk around Loddon

We took advantage of the weather, and my extra days off to get out for a walk today.

We managed to avoid the showers - the first one bypassed us completely, the next waited till we were ensconced in the pub at the end of the walk.  It was sunny, but quite cold.  And it was distinctly wet underfoot in places.

There were some super skies, and big views.  And there was a lovely primrose bank.

This guy is Alfric Modercope, the original Saxon lord of Loddon.  The original of the alms box on which he is leaning is apparently in the church - we did not go in to check.  It is believed to be a Saxon relic.

We finished up in the The Swan, where we had a drink and a meal, and I took a "through the window" view of Holy Trinity Church in the sun.
