Sunset over Kielder

A lovely day in Newcastle, although it was a very cold start. As we drove over, we watched the temperature move from -4 to 3.

I spent three hours with 'Gilgamesh' - no I didn't have a clue about it at 10.30 this morning. But by 1.30, I knew an awful lot more. A text written on stone tablets around the year 3000 BC and we found it fascinating. Brilliant teaching; a great group of people.

Then we headed to Kielder, where we are booked in for a Dark Skies event, (to replace the one that was cancelled a few weeks ago because of snow). We walked round the water for a while, but are now in the warm waiting for something to eat. The sunset was disappointing, as it clouded over, but we are hoping for clear skies later tonight.

Postscript
A fantastic evening with clear skies. I have added in extras an iPhone photo of the moon taken from the telescope.
