St Ninian's Well

or St Ringan's Well, medicinal well at Loweswater

.... or at least that's what I am saying it is. The burden of the well hunter is a heavy one. There are references to this well, conflicting grid references, no obvious map markings, mysterious mentions of 'oldchurchland', but, in the end, I am not exactly sure where it really is. Apparently the Lord of the Manor at Lamplugh kept stud horses and used to run them to the well to drink the pure waters for their health and took well water with them when they raced further afield.
