Arbroath Harbour

6.3C bright and sunny. Light breeze.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went through to Arbroath before 9am and had a walk round the harbour. We walked round the inner harbour to the boatyard. One of the boats from Anstruther that takes day trippers out to the Isle of May was on the slipway. The fishing boats that have been on the slipway are tied up in the inner harbour. There is still work to be done to restore them. The inner harbour was still very busy with lots of boats berthed, three or four deep in places.

No fishermen on the outer harbour wall. The lock gate to the inner harbour was closed so we could walk round in a loop to get back to the car. The quayside was lined with piles of creels. Still cold today although my hands weren't so cold as recent Saturdays by the time we got back to the car.

Maeve and I went for a walk after lunch. Runrig on the Nano (Mara). Just a 2 mile loop down to the shore road and round the main road and back home.

The six nations rugby is back with us. Friday evening was Wales v France, with a win for Wales. First up today Italy v Scotland, with a win for Scotland. Later England v Ireland.
