Difficult Decision...

We had to make a rather tough decision tonight.  It was actually rather gut wrenching and even when events clearly ratify the choice, it still feels bad.

The cubs are organising a 7 day trip down to Brownsea Island in July.  It's on the south coast of England and has some significance to Baden Powell.  We spoke to the organiser since and she put Bethany on a waiting list.  The other night, they formulated a plan which got all the waiting list people on the trip but it meant that the woman organising would have to get the train down.

Now since we were hearing about the waiting list and the possibility of Bethany going, she's been having these real problems with her mum working at night and sleeping.  It's something that, along with Bethany's car sickness, we couldn't guarantee she'd be okay to go and the cub leaders would have these types of issues on them.

We took the rather gut wrenching decision to tell Bethany that we couldn't let her go.  We've told her that we'll organise some sleep overs and trips away with Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles and some of the closer to home cub camps.

She seems happy enough with the outcome and even was chatting with her friend about it today without getting upset.  I guess I just have to work through it now.  It was not nice at all having to do that to her.

Notes on the Picture...
Yes, Bethany has been unsupervised in the kitchen again.  These ones made great stone skimming practice chuckies.  We found out that they hadn't been passed by the FDA, so we passed on the opportunity to taste them.
