I heart NY

Last nights visit to The Star Wars exhibition was amazing; Mr A got a bit emotional seeing Han Solo's costume up close. I was happy to see Leia's bikini! There were a lot of costumes for Padme/Queen Amidala; Natalie Portman is tiny!! It didn't seem right not to feature some of the photos on blip.

We got such a good nights sleep last night and woke at a reasonable 7.30am. That said, we had been on the go for the best part of 22 hours yesterday!

Breakfast was Mr A's choice, a place called the Carnegie Diner which features in the Woody Allen film 'Broadway Danny Rose'.

It wasn't a huge place and British formal instincts kicked in when we were seated on a table for 8 with other diners; we asked to move to a separate table but weren't able to do so and we are both so glad about that now as we met some lovely people.
Sharing the table were a local couple, a guy from Istanbul and a couple from Philadelphia; he was a retired tv presenter! He told us a bit about the history of the diner and we found out its classed as the most famous deli in the US.

The walls of the diner were covered with signed photos of all the famous people who have visited there (we'll send them our photo when we get home).

The food was amazing, so much so that we will probably go again tomorrow. Their sandwiches are legendary (in that they're huge) so we think we may buy one to take to the airport for when we come home. The restaurants motto is 'if you can finish your meal, we've done something wrong'.

We were loathed to leave, but the place was filling up, so we walked down through Hells Kitchen to the pier, to visit the Intrepid Air, Sea & Space museum.

Mr A has been longing to visit here since our last trip as they have his favourite ever plane, the Blackbird, on display.
We also saw Concorde, went on a submarine, saw the space shuttle 'Enterprise', visited the bridge of the Intrepid itself and 'flew' our own plane in a 4D simulator.
That was hilarious as we sat in a 2 person cockpit and took turns to be pilot. The simulator went through a full 360 so we could barrel roll and loop the loop (which of course Mr A did lots of).

It's been another beautiful but cold day, so we walked back to the hotel via the Theatre and Garment districts. I found the store I was looking for and bought my see through Converse that I regretted not buying in Washington DC..

Tonight, we are going to Madison Square Garden to see Black Sabbath, which should be good and loud.

Thanks for all the comments, stars and hearts for FSF, I'll reply properly when we are back home.
