Fancy boat

When my cheap old sunspecs broke the other day, I should have taken that as a good omen and done nothing to jinx the sunshine. Instead, I replaced them with a new pair so, today, the weather went somewhat dull. Not too dull to lounge by the indoor pool, read, snooze and swim.

As the afternoon went on, the cloud lifted and we had sunshine. Walked into town through Catarina Park overlooking the harbour and spotted this lovely colourful blipworthy boat. Walked on into town and had a late lunch or early dinner at Espacho Funchal restaurant. Nice and friendly, and tasty fare, if not quite as magical as Olives was.

Back to the hotel in time for a game of Scrabble on our balcony before dark. To us, this is one of the main attractions of Funchal in February - the climate. It's cold winter to the locals, but a taste of early summer to us! Oh boy, is the cold going to hit us when we return home on Wednesday!
