Cuba day six - Havana

We took ourselves a bit more off the beaten track in Havana today, and explored some of Central Havana. At times it was ramshackle, dirty and smelly, but still just amazing and so photogenic, and I never felt threatened, despite walking around with my camera in a place where people are just scraping by and making do. It was amazing to see so many locals out on the streets, going about their daily lives, fixing and mending, shopping for essentials and often just sitting on the street chatting and watching the world go by. There is not much internet here yet, so people still talk! ;)

In the afternoon we decided to rest our feet a bit and go on the open top bus tour of Havana, we stopped off at the Cementerio de Cristobal Colón. I love a good cemetery and this one was amazing, and huge - it would have taken hours to see it all, but it was scorching hot, so we just explored a small part.
