Commando Memorial

This monumemt is instantly recognisable to many people. It stands on the edge of a plateau above Spean Bridge. Despite a roadside location it has a trememdous outlook to the west and south stretching from Loch Linnhe, the Nevis Range mountains and the Grey Corries.
It is here to mark with respect all the service people who have lost their lives and in particular that of the Commandos during the second world war. They had a substantial training base a few miles from here.
