Bluewater Shopping Centre

There's a collective groan amongst men when the wife suggests going to Bluewater. Acres of shops on two levels. I must confess I join the chorus and indeed have had enough after three or so hours but it does provide a rich source of blips which can make it more of a pleasure.

Even better when you have a voucher for a free coffee and cake at John Lewis which we enjoyed, as you would with anything that was free. Susan then spent a couple of hours shopping for various people and a little for herself while I visited the Nespresso shop to buy some more capsules and have another coffee. I'm looking for a new laptop and am considering an MacBook Pro so I spent a happy time quizzing store assitants about the pros and cons of various models and issues to do with storage, mice and productivity software. I was also looking for new poweline internet sockets as we can't access the internet through the TV now. We used to be able to, but although the TV can see the router, it cannot see the internet beyond it. We'll see if the new ones make any difference.

Interesting isn't it that the MacBooks are exactly the same price wherever you go? It doesn't seem right that Apple can control prices so rigidly. The same product doesn't seem any cheaper abroad either. I can shop around for a car and get one for 20% less but I can't do this with Apple. Seems like capitalism only works when the capitalists want it to work.

For the last hour we mooched around John Lewis looking at curtain materials and placemats and the like, by which time it was home time before the rush hour traffic began to build.
